LAHORE- India is trying to destabilize Pakistan with the help of Afghanistan, claimed Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan. While talking to journalists Hassan further alleged that India was involved in conspiracies to weaken Pakistan. He further stated that the government should expose those who were carrying out attacks under Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) name. Answering a question on peace process he said, improvement in peace negotiations are expected, as the government is serious in its efforts, even the overseas Pakistanis are keeping high expectations from the talks. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami said he is confident that talks will succeed. He urged Taliban to help government in identifying those who want to sabotage the talks. Hassan stated that Jamiat-Ulema-e-Islami Fazl Chief of Jamiat- Ulema- e- Islami (F) Fazlur Rehman, was part of the government and should not talk negatively about the peace negotiations and a person of this status should be careful while giving such remarks.
When asked whether the army should be involved in peace negotiations, Hassan remarked that the army was an institution of the government and it has all the authority of using it as it pleases.
