OUR STAFF REPORTER BAHAWALNAGAR - Apathy of medical staff of a Children Clinic claims the life of a newborn baby here in Haroonabad. According to detail, One Mohammad Ijaz, a resident of Haroonabad suburb went for treatment of his newborn daughter to Hanan Children Clinic, where he made several request to medical staff including doctor, but they paid no heed to his requests and sustaining their apathy which lead to the death of newborn baby. The death of baby sparked protest by the family and they staged demo against the clinic staff. Ijaz said that he brought his daughter to aforesaid clinic and requested the staff nurse to ask doctor for baby's treatment as she was suffering from critical condition, but the nurse and other medical staff pretending of doctor's engagement, as he was talking on the phone during the incident. Ijaz made repeated requests to them but to no avail, as a result he deprived of his daughter. Family demanded the high-ups including Chief Minister to take stern action against clinic staff. However it was learnt that the victim family received threats of dire consequences from other side to make compromise and resolve the issue.
