SADIQABAD - MNA Arshad Khan Leghari said Pakistan was faced with severe crises because of loadshedding, dearness, unemployment and lawlessness therefore the PML-N government was forced to take bold decisions.
Talking to the media, he said that the government was utilising all the available resources and capabilities for resolution of the public grievances. He claimed to have earmarked especial funds for development of Sadiqabad and welfare of the people, saying that soon, a new era of the tehsil-level development would start.
The MNA said that his party came to power at a time when the country was faced with a many crises. During the last five years, the PPP-led government had brought the national economy on the brink of destruction.
Insha’Allah (if God Willing), energy crisis would be resolved soon whereas for the elimination of lawlessness, the government was taking steps, he added. Leghari pledged the provision of basic amenities at the doorsteps of the people of his constituency (NA-197), saying that for this purpose he had got funds approved by the federal and the Punjab provincial governments. He said the all the promises the PML-N leadership made with the public in the elections campaign would be fulfilled. He also said that in the local government elections, his party would vigorously participate and win the elections.
LG PLAN FOR SADIQABAD: The Punjab government has approved the offices of a chairman, two vice chairmen and 45 councillors for the Municipal Committee Sadiqabad. According to the Local Government Ordinance, in line with the population of tehsil Sadiqabad, 45 councillors would be elected for the committee while labour, minorities’ and women’s specific seats would be separate from these slots. After being elected, the councillors would elect the chairman and vice chairmen of the local government. According to the directives issued by the Punjab government, conducting fresh delimitation electoral boundaries was underway under the supervision of assistant commissioner. In a few days, a report on the delimitation would be sent to the district coordination officer of Rahim Yar Khan, he said.
