QUETTA - Three people, including a leader of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP-Aali) and a police constable, were killed and a woman was wounded in separate firing incidents in various towns of Balochistan on Sunday.
In the first incident, unidentified armed men opened fire at a passenger bus, heading towards Karachi, on National Highway in Khuzdar. As a result, JWP-Aali leader Dad Ali Bugti who was traveling in the bus sustained critical wounds and died on the spot. The assailants fled from the scene after committing the crime.
Police rushed to the site after the incident and shifted the body to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities. However, investigation is underway to ascertain whether JWP-Aali leader was the main target or the armed man wanted target the bus. In another incident, a man identified as Sanaullah, was killed and a woman, Razia, sustained injuries in an armed clash between two groups in the Surab area of Kalat district. Levies personnel rushed to the site after the incident and took the control of the area. In yet another incident, a police constable, identified as Shabbir, was shot dead by armed men in Goth Magsi of Jhal Magsi.
FIVE DECOMPOSED BODIES FOUND IN MAND: Five decomposed dead bodies of illegal immigrants were recovered from the mountainous area of Mand, Kech district, near Iran border, on Sunday.
On a tip-off that five bodies were lying in the mountains of Mand tehsil of Kech district, Levies personnel rushed to the site and moved the bodies to local hospital for postmortem.
When contacted, Mand Assistant Commissioner Hussain Baloch confirmed that five dead bodies were found in the mountainous area. “The decomposed bodies seemed to be of Afghan nationals by their appearances,” he said, adding they were perhaps trying to go European countries via Iran for a bright future. He further said initial reports suggested they died of hunger and thirst. The bodies were shifted to hospital morgue in Turbat after autopsy.
