SIALKOT - Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly and PTI Leader Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed has asked the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to contest the National Assembly election by vacating and resigning from Punjab if he desired to run the state affairs in Centre.
Talking to the newsmen here at Jinnah House Sialkot here, the other day, he said that Hamza Shehbaz had been given a task of gaining victory in the coming LB polls by stealing the public mandate given to PTI, ultimately handing down complete control of Punjab to his son. He alleged that the Punjab government was changing the union councils into LB Wards for rigging ahead of the LB polls. He pointed out that the PTI was still in favour of peace talks with Taliban to ensure durable peace in the country, saying that only negotiations with Taliban had now become vital for peace in Pakistan.
The Opposition Leader demanded immediate ban on use of government development funds across Punjab till the holding of the LB polls in the province.
PTI Central Deputy General Secretary Umer Dar, Sialkot President Ch Shah Nawaz, General Secretary Khawaja Arif Ahmed and local leaders Usman Dar and Mian Shakeel Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
