HAFIZABAD - Meer Khalid Mehmood (50), poverty-stricken and tension-ridden, lone son of an ageing Pakistan Movement worker Meer Muhammad Hussain popularly known as Muhammad Kasmiri, ex-Salar Muslim League National Guard died here on Sunday after awaiting anxiously for financial assistance from Mian Shahbaz Sharif and Mian Nawaz Sharif.
He was laid to rest in the Railway Line Graveyard on Sunday. The funeral was attended by hundreds of his admires and relatives.
It is pertinent to mention that electronic media and print media had highlighted the plight of the family of 93-year-old living Pakistan Movement worker, calling upon the government for financial assistance to cater the needs of the family and medical treatment of the deceased and the aged Pakistan Movement worker. Later the family also sent representation to Mian Shahbaz Sharif mentioning their pitiable condition and seeking financial assistance through registered post about a fortnight back but no one came to their rescue. Old workers of Muslim League have called upon Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif to provide the family financial assistance to save them from starvation.
