PESHAWAR – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Arbab Khizer Hayat Khan said his party would offer resistance to the proposed army operation in North Waziristan Agency.
Talking to media here on Thursday the PML-N leader said the US has been trying to hoodwink the people into believing that it wanted to uproot the so-called terrorists, but the reality of the matter was that the waning superpower was desperately trying to resuscitate its crumbling position in the comity of nations.
Khizer said his party has never been against the creation of new provinces in Pakistan vis-a-vis Seraiki, Hazara, and Bahawapur. PML-N believes that issue should be addressed in accordance with the constitution, Khizer emphasised, adding that the provincial assemblies will have to approve demarcations of their boundaries. He regretted that the federal government constituted a commission in haste, which is contrary to the country’s constitution.
Khizer believed that the ongoing confrontation between judiciary and ruling party - PPPP will prove harmful for democracy, and advised the government for implementation of the Supreme Court rulings in letter and spirit.
He claimed that if given chance, PML-N, would restart the development process in the country, which was halted by a dictator.
Khizer said that his party dissociated itself from the government when the ruling party stepped back on its commitments. Khizer said that general elections might be held after two months. He said that the media had acted malafide by terming as migrations the routine visits of some Hindu families to India to attend religious events.
He also termed the reports about alleged forced conversions of Hindu girls as false. PML-N leader said that the failure of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its allies could not be termed as the failure of democracy. Khizer said wrong steps of the government were endangering democracy.
He said the flop style of governance adopted by the rulers had pushed the country into darkness. He said the darkness. He said the people of the country are fed up with the rulers.
