ISLAMABAD- First ever book written on the life of former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry entitled “Bari Mushkil se hota hai chaman mein deedawar paida” after his retirement will soon be available in the market.
The author Sardar Ali Hussain has compartmentalized the book into 10 chapters featuring diverse aspects of life of former CJP. First chapter encompasses family of former CJP, his personality, parents, schooling, second chapter highlights his journey from embarking on profession of legal practitioner to his elevation to the office of chief justice of Balochistan high court third chapter focuses on his tenure as CJP particularly his land mark decisions in suo motu cases of ban on basant, kidnapping of children, conversion of public parks in golf course, rights of the poor prisoners, privatization of steel mills.
The author has described at length March 9, 2007 incident, conspiracies against former CJP, letter from Naeem Bokhari, affidavit from CJP and certain rumors in chapter 4. He has tried to depict true picture of popular reaction, resignation of the justice, government intransigence, details of the reference, counter claim from CJP and objections of the council on 3 judges in 5th chapter.
He has narrated courageously the coercive tactics of the government, lawyers protest, country wide lawyers struggle, historical judgments and wait for one man in chapter No 6 of this book. 7th chapter contains his skilled narration on storms of dictatorship, persistent conspiracies, performance of apex court, November 3, 2007 proclamation of emergency, new prolonged struggle and lawyers protest.
