Former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Allama Hamid Saeed Kazmi has described the ongoing peace parlays with Taliban as waste of time, saying the exercise will not yield any results without taking Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine and other terrorism incidents victims into confidence. "Such negotiations will go in vain as how can one expect any good from any exercise without following the right path," he expressed the views while talking to the media at the residence of Tahafuz-e-Ahle Sunnat leader Pir Mohammad Iqbal Shah at Mujahid Colony here the other night.
Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi pointed out that despite numerous appeals Taliban didn't agreed to lay down arms "because their activities are taking place under the nose of a super power who do not want peace in Pakistan."
Responding to a question, he said that current rulers had failed to stand former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf trial for his extra-constitutional steps. The former minister elaborated that Pervez Musharraf came back under an agenda, which he said, was a sheer stupidity on his (Musharraf) part and now the ex-dictator was paying the price of it. Hamid Saeed Kazmi informed that foreign powers, who got Nawaz Sharif released from the prison and sent him abroad, now again were manoeuvring to get Musharraf out of the country, adding that if the former president would succeed in going abroad his trial would stand worthless.
