Qureshi criticizes Punjab government of arresting PTI workers

LAHORE-  PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi today lambasted the PML-N led government for allegedly carrying out arrests and detainment of party workers in the lead up to the Azadi March.

He termed the attitude of the government as "the same as that of the Musharraf era." Talking to media today, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that police stations across Punjab are full of motorcycles that are being detained by the Punjab police in an effort to halt Azadi March.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi further stated that the Punjab government had suspended the petrol supply across the province so that the PTI workers cannot reach their destination. He therefore advised all the PTI workers to arrange alternatives beforehand.

Vice Chairman PTI also said that the government had taken off all the posters, banners and boards of Imran Khan and had sealed Islamabad with containers.  Commenting on Article 245 he said that its implementation was unjust and completely uncalled for and represents government’s non-democratic
behavior.

He further added that Punjab government was conspiring against the federation. Qureshi expressed determination regarding the Azadi March stating that no matter what happens, Azadi March shall take place.

Confirming the invitation to the national security conference, Vice Chairman PTI informed that PTI has received the invitation; the leadership would now review as to whether they would be participating in the conference or not after consulting the party members. Also they would be reviewing the level
of leadership that is to represent PTI at the meeting. They shall be informing the government of their decision by today evening.
