WARBURTON - The Art Club of Govt High School Warburton organised 'All Punjab Painting' contest on the topic of "Education for All" here the other day.
About 20 professionals, teachers and students from across the province took part in the competition and sketched out their masterpieces on the boundary wall of GHS Warburton.
Each contestant prepared two to three pictures in the live competition.
The panel of the judges was comprised of Sahib Jee from Sheikhupura, Arif Hussain Nankana Sahib and Ch Abdul Rasheed from Warburton who inspected the paintings and declared the first three position-holders. Shava Maqsood from Safdarabad was judged first, Labeeb Mughal from Ferozwattuan Sheikhupura stood and Abrar Hussain from Warburton was declared third respectively. Local notable Malik Muhammad Amin rewarded the position-holders with cash prizes - Rs7,000, 5,000 and Rs3,000. However, all participants were rewarded with Rs1,000 each for preparing their masterpieces while Shahbaz Niazi awarded a special prize of additional Rs2,000 for being coordinator of the competition.
Later, Senior Headmaster Javed Ashraf Shooka greeted the winners and expressed gratitude to the participants. The Executive District Officer (Education), the District Officer Education, school staff, students and locals appreciated the activity organised by Art Club President Muhammad Ansar, Vice President Iqbal Arif Sandrana, General Secretary Zahoor Elahi Awais, Joint Secretary Waqar Nadeem and Finance Secretary Muhammad Aslam.
