ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is likely to read out news in his mother tongue - Saraiki - during a news bulletin at the occasion of launching of Saraiki bulletin on Radio Pakistan, scheduled today (Tuesday). According to sources in the Ministry of Information, the PM would read out the Saraiki news on 6:00 p.m. He would reach Radio Pakistan, Islamabad, two hours before for the rehearsal of news bulletin, they said. It is worth mentioning here that it would be the first occasion in the countrys history that a PM would read out news in news bulletin of Radio Pakistan. The sources said the Saraiki bulletin on Radio Pakistan was to be launched earlier but it was delayed due to the busy schedule of the PM. When contacted, the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) Spokesman Zafar Khan confirmed that the PM would read out news during the first Saraiki bulletin on Radio Pakistan. He said three Saraiki bulletins would be broadcast from PBC News, Islamabad and they would be relayed from five stations of Radio Pakistan, including Multan, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, Sargodha, and Dera Ismail Khan. Morning bulletin in Saraiki, followed by Punjabi bulletin, will be aired at 7:22 a.m., he said adding the daytime Saraiki bulletin would be aired at 12:15 p.m. after Punjabi bulletin. He added that the third Saraiki bulletin would also follow the Punjab news bulletin at 6:17 p.m.
