PESHAWAR - Unknown militants killed abducted cardiologist Dr Syed Jamal and thrown his body in Jamrud area of Khyber Agency here on Thursday.
Dr Syed Jamal was abducted from Peshawar’s Hayatabad area two months back. Despite several protests by Provincial Doctors Association (PDA), the district administration failed to get Syed Jamal freed.
Talking to reporters, PDA President Dr Shahsawar said that doctors community across Peshawar would stage protest demonstration in main teaching hospital of Peshawar while three days mourning would also be observed in the wake of this tragic incident.
It is worth mentioning here that Dr Jamal was on his way home when he was abducted. Many doctors have been kidnapped from Hayatabad in the recent months. Kidnappings coupled with robberies have been on the rise in the city for the last few months.
Armed militants also picked up a driver and cleaner of a van in Badhabera area Friday night. However, later they snatched the vehicle and released the driver and the cleaner.
