Our Staff Reporter Sargodha - The University of Sargodha announced the result of first annual BA/BSc examination 2011. The result declaration ceremony was held on Monday where UoS Controller (Examinations) Muhammad Iqbal Qureshi announced the result. During the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali conferred shields and merit certificates on position-holding students. He also gave away cash prize of Rs10,000, 7,000 and 5,000 to the students who grabbed first three positions in the examination respectively. Speaking on the occasion, the VC claimed that since the inception of the varsity, it has conducted various examinations in many disciplines, both regular and composite but it always maintained the sanctity of the system by conducting the examinations in fair and free manner. He further said that gradual increase in the enrolment in different discipline and maximum appearance of the candidates in the examination reflected the high level of trust of the students in academic discipline and examination system of the UoS. In BA exam, Ms. Rubina Anwar, a private candidate from Bhera got 1st position by scoring 619 marks. She also stands overall 1st in the BA/BSc examination 2011. Amsa Rani from Govt College for Women Kot Momin Sargodha stood 2nd by scoring 612 marks whereas Mr Noorul Arifeen, a private candidate from Sargodha and Inam Ullah Shah, a private candidate from Mianwali got 3rd position by securing 608 marks. In BSc exam, Ms Sehrish Noreen from Acme College of Excellence, Sargodha got first position with 591 marks while Ms. Aymen Qayyum from Govt College for women Chandni Chowk Sargodha grabbed 2nd position by scoring 585 marks and Ms Misbah Yasin from Al-Suffah Girls College, Sargodha got 3rd position by getting 584 marks in the BA, BSc examination 2011. A total of 14,233 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 5356 were declared pass with the total percentage of 37.66 percent. In BA examination 12,933 candidates appeared of which 4857 passed the examination whereas 1300 candidates appeared in BSc examination and 499 candidates were declared pass.
