Our Staff Reporter MIRPUR (AJK) - In his first-ever formal chat with media people of Mirpur, the newly-elected AJK Prime Minister Ch Abdul Majeed categorically resolved to cleanse Mirpur city of all the bad-reputed public sector institutions like the Mirpur Development Authority and others. He was talking to the members of Kashmir Press Club Mirpur who called on him under the leadership of the clubs President Syed Abid Hussain Shah at Kashmir House in Islamabad the other night. The delegation comprised of senior members included Hafiz Muhammad Maqsood, Altaf Hamid Rao, Raja Habib Ullah Khan, Sardar Jamil Sadiq, Zaheer Azam Jiraal, Khawaja Muhammad Iqbal, Sheir Baz Munir and others felicitated Ch Abdul Majeed on his election as the 11th Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Without naming the MDA, Prime Minister Majeed said that the MDA-like institutions have turned Mirpur city into a filth ground due rampant corruption. He did not even hesitate to describe the institution (MDA) as public den of massive corruption and unbridled horse following the alleged large scale corruption, malpractices and irregularities on the part of certain officials rampant in the institution since long. Underlining the priorities of his popularly-elected peoples government, the AJK Prime Minister declared that revolutionary reforms will be infused to make all the public sector institutions including MDA, Public Service Commission, Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST) and the DHQ hospitals across AJK, vibrant and objective institutions - where easy access to the common man / poor would be made available in letter and spirit. The Prime Minister emphatically said that his government would ensure the access and availability of services of the District hospitals to the common ailing humanity besides the job opportunities to the talented educated youth belonging to the poor families through indiscriminate selection process by the Public Service Commission. He observed that deserving educated youth belonging to poor families could not be benefited of the PSC yet and instead the influential always enjoyed the institution (PSC) to get their favourites in the government services. The Premier declared that problems of rehabilitation and resettlement of the effectees of Mangla Dam Raising project would be resolved on priority basis and within the stipulated time frame. He said that no any shelter less person or family in Mirpur and rest of AJK would be left without roof and a gigantic plan will be inked by the government in the near future to provide housing facilities to the homeless people. Ch Majeed sought due assistance and cooperation of the media for his government to help wiping out corruption from all segments of society besides various government institutions in AJK to promote and strengthen the Kashmir freedom struggle to bring it to its logical end.
