Fatima Jinnahs anniversary today

Faisalabad (APP) - The 44th death anniversary of Madr-i-Millat Fatima Jinnah will be observed with national zeal here today (Saturday). A number of functions, conferences, seminars and references will be held in the country to pay rich tribute to Madr-i-Millat wherein the speakers will highlight her services for creating a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. Fatima Jinnahs name is an important one among the leaders of Pakistans independence movement. Fatima Jinnah was born in 1893. Encouraged by her brother, she completed her education, living in a hostel while attending Dr Ahmad Dental College. In 1923, she opened her own dental practice in Calcutta. When Quaid-e-Azams wife, Rutti Jinnah, passed away leaving behind a daughter, Fatima Jinnah gave up her practice and went to live with her brother taking charge of the house and her young niece.
