ISLAMABAD- Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed contempt of court petition filed by a citizen Muhammad Fahim from Multan against Prime Minster (PM), Chief Ministers (CMs) of all the four provinces and chief commissioner with reference to appointment and transfer of civil servants on political consideration.
A three-member bench of SC headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja took up the case for hearing today.
The petitioner said that federal and provincial governments were making appointments and transferring the government employees on political basis. Therefore, they should be restrained from doing so. This act constitutes contempt of court in the light of SC decision in Anita Turab case. Therefore, contempt of court proceedings should be initiated against them, he prayed. The court remarked “ you are not civil servant therefore, your plea is rejected.”
