ISLAMABAD- According to sources privy to PM house, a high government official has requested the PM to reopen Youtube which has shut down Pakistan’s access to the world’s historical video links and the ban is depriving people of the learning material available on the website. Sources told that the government had not yet considered reopening the access to Youtube and the Prime Minister didn’t show a positive response regarding this matter. Earlier, the government blocked Youtube after a controversial movie titled ‘Innocence of Muslim’ produced in the United State. The movie was protested the world over and one protest also occurred in Islamabad where angry protestors had damaged much of the public properties. This move compelled the government to block the Youtube due to unavailability of filtering software to stop the movie for Pakistani users.
