Police defuse explosive device planted in school





PESHAWAR - Peshawar city police thwarted a major sabotaging bid by defusing a 2.5-kg explosive device near a government school in the jurisdiction of Peshtakhara Police Station on Tuesday.
Sources said that local people and students informed Peshtakhara Police regarding the presence of suspected device near the government school in Peshtakhara area. Police and bomb disposal squad timely reached the site and defused the explosive devices successfully.
Police said that the devise was 2.5 kilogram in weight and its target were the students of the local school. Police added that search operation is underway and soon the responsible persons would be arrested.
Meanwhile, armed militants attacked the house of the leader of Aman Lashkar Israr in Mattni area; however after the retaliatory action the militants made their escape. After the exchange of firing heavy contingent of Police rushed the site and surrounded the entire area,but the militants had made their escape successfully.
In separate incident a person was killed inside a central Jail Prison due to the alleged torture of Jail Police here on Tuesday. Sources said that the killed person was detained in Peshawar central jail for alleged robbery.
Sources said that Police has fastened him inside a jail compartment and had severely tortured him. On the other hand Jail administration denied the allegation of torturing and said that the person was killed due epilepsies diseases.
