ISLAMABAD (APP) - The officials of Directorate of Health Services, Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday visited to Islamabad Vegetable Market under its campaign to control dengue virus. Director Health, Dr Hassan Arooj expressed serious concern over poor condition of sanitation in the hotels, shops and trucks stands in that area. He directed to remove garbage and improve drainage system on immediate basis to protect the citizens from the risk of the epidemic. He also asked President of Islamabad Vegetable Market, Mohammad Usman Khan to keep check on such places where there is any chance of breeding of dengue mosquito and take effective measures for getting rid of this fatal disease. Dr Hassan Arooj also briefed the visitors of market about preventive measures against dengue virus and responded to their questions regarding symptoms of the epidemic. He urged the citizens not to afraid of the virus but initiate individual and collective efforts for saving themselves from it. Vice President of market, Shahid Zaman Shanwari, Executive member of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce Tahir Ayub and officials of vegetable market were also present on the occasion. At the end, fumigation was carried out under the supervision of Director Health.
