FEROZEWALAPolice arrested about 32 nominated and 54 other criminals on Thursday and recovered millions of rupees worth stolen goods, heavy amount of narcotics and illegal ammunition during a crackdown in the area. DPO Sheikhupura Afzal Mehmood Butt gave special task to SHO, Ferozewala Faisal Abbas Chadarh to arrest the criminals involved in serious cases. He conducted raids at different places and arrested 32 criminals involved in serious crimes. Some of the arrested are Tufail, Bashir, Zulfiqar, Arif, Sharif, Ashfaq, Siddique, Imran, Riasat and Shakeel etc. Police recovered ammunition and narcotics in heavy amount from their custody and registered cases. DPO Sheikhupura lauded efforts of SHO Faisal Abbas Chadarh, SI Rana Muhammad Yaqoob, SI Mian Abdul Majeed and ASI Rana Muhammad Yaqoob and other police staff, who successfully raided and arrested criminals. Meanwhile, the traffic on Lahore Road near EMCO factory remained suspended for five hours when scores of Christians protested over the death of their colleague who died in a road accident on Thursday. According to details, a large number of Christians were going to Mariyam Abad on bicycles to participate in a three-day religious festival commencing on Thursday. Meanwhile, a speedy bus hit a cyclist Samuil Masih killing him instantly when they reached near EMCO factory. After the incident infuriated protesters blocked the main Lahore road from both sides suspending traffic for five hours. The police made efforts to restore the traffic. RPO asks people to contact for complaints: Sheikhupura Regional Police Officer Dr Arif Mushtaq has asked the people in their areas to contact him for registering their complaints round the clock, to solve public complaints immediately. He also directed all DPOs in the region that all police stations publish their police stations phone numbers for public awareness.
