ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board on Tuesday approved in principle the cases of four agro farms subject to the fulfilment of legal procedure/s involving the allotment. These four cases were among 17 cases of agro farms, which were earlier cancelled by the Chairman CDA in Nov 2010 following surfacing of the alleged irregularities in allotment process. The Chairman CDA had cancelled 13 cases of allotted agro farms and four under process cases besides suspending former Director Land Dr Waseem Shamshad after reports regarding mega irregularities pertaining to attachment of fake or bogus documents etc were emerged in the process. An allotment scrutiny committee has also been constituted to review its earlier decision of allotment of agro farms by re-scrutinising the documents and other procedures necessary to get an agro plot. Resultantly, the committee had earlier taken up 11 out of 17 cases and Tuesday recommended to the board the approval of four cases in principle. According to the CDAs land disposal rules, agro farms are allotted to landholders in exchange of their 100 kanals of land in and around the city Islamabad. In many cases bogus documents of 100 kanals had been submitted to get agro farms in different schemes, including Murree Chak Shahzad and Tarlai agro schemes. The NAB and FIA are already probing into the issue. The board has also unanimously turned down a summary presented before it seeking waiving off the essential training meant for promotion in next grade. The board adopted that the authority follows federal governments promotion policy and that the said summary was in deviation of federal govt rules in this regard. It was suggested that if CDA officials were finding it difficult to join for NIPA course, meant for promotions, that authority could sign agreement/s with other training institutes like Secretariat Training Institute to fulfil the purpose. The board also approved planning parameters for Federal Govt Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) apartments in Sector G-13, allowing only 33pc ground coverage in a bid to preserve the green character of the city.
