NEW YORK-  A US judge sentenced an elderly Pakistani-American to 18 years to life in prison for murdering his wife in New York after she refused to cook him a goat supper.
Noor Hussain 75 was convicted of second degree murder for killing Nazar in April 2011 as she lay in bed in their Brooklyn apartment after subjecting her to years of abuse. Frail and with medical problems, Wednesday's sentencing from Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Matthew D'Emic means that Hussain would likely die behind bars, though he would be eligible for parole after 18 years. District attorney Kenneth Thompson welcomed the tough penalty.
