Two Levies personnel killed in blast

QUETTA - Two Levies personnel were killed and three others were wounded in two separate explosions in Mastung and Dera Bugti districts of Balochistan on Thursday. Officials said a blast near a petrol pump in Dasht area of Mastng district killed Levies official Shabir Ahmed and driver Muhammad Murad on the spot. Reportedly, after first blast, other Levies personnel rushed to the site and started examining the scene, and then there was a second blast killing two Levies personnel and wounding Jalil Ahmed, another official. A heavy contingent of law and enforcement agencies rushed to the site after the second blast and cordoned off the area. A Levies official said that the explosives were detonated through remote controlled devices. The injured was later shifted to Quetta for further treatment after first medical aid. No group has claimed responsibility for the blasts so far. Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has strongly condemned the blasts and expressed deep sorrow over the killing of two Levies personnel. In another incident, two people were seriously wounded in a landmine blast in Dera Bugti. Sources said Iqbal and his friend were riding a motorbike in Janbadi area of Dera Bugti when their bike rolled on a landmine laid by unidentified people. Consequently, the mine exploded and both received serious wounds. The injured were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, five people including two women were killed in separate incidents of firing in different towns of Balochistan on Thursday. In the first incident, unidentified people killed a woman (s) and her alleged lover Ghulam Hussain in Killi Shabo in the Quettas outskirts in the limits of Airport Police Station. The assailants stated to be relatives of deceased woman fled from the site after committing the crime. Police said investigations were underway to unearth real motives behind the killing, however, initial investigation reports suggested it could be a case of honour killing. Police handed over the bodies to heirs after completing legal formalities and registered a case. In another similar incident, a person killed his daughter and her alleged paramour in Jaffarabad district. Sources said Abdul Gaffor allegedly shot dead his daughter (z) and her lover Khairullah in the precincts of Cattle Form Police Station near Usta Muhammad after accusing them of having illicit relations. The accused father managed to flee from the scene after committing the crime. Meanwhile, unidentified people opened fire on vehicle at Dasht area, some 20 KM away from Quetta killing one person identified as Rohail Khan. However, motive behind the killing could not be ascertained.
