Heat wave grips Pakistan, this year's hottest day in Gwadar

Karachi- Pakistan will remain under the grip of extremely hot weather today as temperature rose to 40 degrees centigrade in many cities.
Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) said Balochistan’s Gwadar district experienced the season’s hottest day today (June 10) when the temperature rose to 49.5 degrees centigrade.
It said 49 Centigrade temperature was recorded in Sibi whereas lowest minimum of 16 Centigrade was recorded in Quetta and Kalat.
The PMD forecast very hot and dry weather in most parts, including Balochistan region during the next 24 hours.
It said rain is expected at a few places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Malakand and Hazara divisions.
According to the synoptic situation, seasonal low was lying over north Baluchistan and adjoining areas. A shallow westerly trough was also prevailing over northern parts of Pakistan.
