ASWJ leader survives attack


KARACHI - MANSOOR KHAN -

Ahle-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat leader Maulana Orangzeb Farooqi survived an attack by some unidentified armed assailants near Korangi seminary on Thursday. However, his four guards sustained severe injuries in the attack.
Farooqi was on his way to Korangi to attend his corner meeting at Dar-ul-Uloom Korangi seminary when the assailants started indiscriminate fire on his convoy.
The attackers, however, managed to flee from the scene.  Guards Adeel, Zamir Abbasi, Abdullah and Abdul Rehman were rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. It is pertinent to mention here that Farooqi had also survived an attack couple of months ago in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.

 in which six police guards were killed.
