Soldier, six militants killed in SWA attack

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN – Security forces killed six militants, besides injuring 13 others in retaliation to an attack on a check post in South Waziristan Agency on Friday in which one soldiers was also killed.
According to officials, militants attacked a security check post near Toi Khulla area in Wana at around 4 am with fire arms. The soldieries returned fire that killed 6 militants and left 13 injured. Two soldiers got injured in the clash and one of them could not survive wounds. The injured solder is being treated in a hospital in Wana. According to reports, dozens of militants attacked a check post of security forces with heavy weapons, but the soldiers were brisk in their response and force them to flee.
They encounter lasted for about an hour and, according to officials, three vehicles of militants were also destroyed during the clash. Forces launched a search operation in the area soon after the incident.
Meanwhile, an organisation “Mujahideen-e-Waziristan” has distributed pamphlets in Wana, warning the Ahmedzai tribe against joining the Levies force.
The pamphlet says the Levies force is being trained with the help of US forces, which is not acceptable.
Assistant Political Agent Shahid Ali Khan had held negotiations with Ahmedzai Wazir tribe for joining Levies force. The tribe sought three-day time to decide.
