Banking ombudsman vows to plug banks, industry gulf

SIALKOT-Banking Ombudsman of Pakistan Anisul Husnain has pledged to make all out efforts to resolve disputes between the business community and the banks besides decreasing backlog cases between the two sectors.
He stated this while addressing the businessmen at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday.
SCCI President Dr Sarfraz Bashir, SVP Mian Muhammad Anwar, RDO Umair Nisar, senior bankers and financial tycoons were also present on the occasion.
The Banking Ombudsman disclosed that he resolved the financial disputes (worth of Rs75 million) between the businessmen and bankers during the last fiscal year.
He said that Banking Ombudsman institution had been made more credible and trust worthy institution of the country, having no political influence. He said that early resolution to business community’s litigation was his top priority.
He announced resolving every litigation between the banks and businessmen within a stipulated period of next two months, saying that the step would also be help to resolve prolonged delayed litigation in this regard.
He asked the banks to bring betterment in their services being rendered to the businessmen.
