LORALAI - At least seven security personnel were martyred and two others injured when militants ambushed their check-post in Duki area of Loralai here late Wednesday night.
According to Levies sources, the bodies and injured were shifted to Loralai hospital. Security forces cordoned off the area and kicked off search operation.
Seven paramilitary troops were killed in a pre-dawn terror attack, officials confirmed.
A security official said gunmen attacked a check-post of the Frontier Corps in Loralai district, killing seven security men at the scene. Several were injured who were taken to hospital.
The attackers fled after the deadly assault.
The paramilitary FC force was deployed in the Duki, which is rich in coal and mineral resources, in the aftermath of increasing tribal disputes.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. The anti-govt armed groups are blamed for such attacks on security forces.
12 SUSPECTS HELD IN QUETTA SEARCH OPERATION
At least 12 suspected persons were arrested in search operation of law enforcement agencies in different areas of Quetta on Thursday.
Saddar SP Mehmood Noutezai said that search operation was conducted in Khrotabad, Uzbek Bazaar, Badezai Town, Pashtun Bagh and Kachlak areas. Heavy contingent of police and anti-terrorist force (ATF) took part in the action.
The LEAs personnel inquired about Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) and other required documents from the residents of the areas and took into custody 12 suspects who failed to clarify their identity. The detainees were being interrogated.
Noutezai said that the search operation was launched in the wake of deteriorating law and order situation and surge in crimes.
