YouTube ban: LHC seeks IT minister\'s reply

LAHORE- The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought a reply from the Minister for Information Technology in YouTube ban case and adjourned the hearing till March 14, 2014.

The case was heard by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah. A government reply was filed in the court but it did not have the signature of the concerned minister, therefore the court ordered resubmission of the answer.

The government lawyer told the court that the ban on YouTube was imposed in Pakistan following the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan. However, the petitioner stated that the Supreme Court had only ordered the removal of blasphemous content from the website, instead of banning the whole video sharing website.
