One held in ex-AGP murder case, SC told

ISLAMABAD - The Capital police on Wednesday apprised the Supreme Court that one accused involved in the murder of former attorney general for Pakistan Sardar Khans case has been arrested. A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and comprising Justice Tariq Pervaiz and Justice Ghulam Rabbani was hearing the suo motu case regarding the former AGPs killing. During the course of proceedings, Additional Interior Secretary Shahid Amin informed the court that the Islamabad police have made some progress in this case and Iftikhar, driver of the main accused, Ruhullah, has been arrested. He mentioned that police is close to the arrest of main accused, adding that all his assets have been frozen as they are trying to reach him; therefore he was threatening the family of former AGP. He pleaded the court to give some time for the arrest of main accused. Accepting his plea, the court adjourned the hearing till December 10.
