WAH CANTT: POF Hospital and Jamila Sultana Foundation, Rawalpindi jointly organised a one day Blood Camp for Thalassaemia patients at F.G. Degree College for Boys, Wah Cantt on Thursday in which a large number of the students of schools, colleges, universities and POF employees donated their blood. Lt Gen Muhammad Ahsan Mahmood, HI(M) Chairman POF Board also donated his blood in this camp.
Addressing on this occasion Chairman POF Board remarked, "there is no side effect of donating blood and we all should take part in this noble cause vehemently. POF Chairman appreciated the efforts being made by Foundation for the welfare of mankind by collecting blood for Thalassaemia patients and their services for mankind are worth appreciable". Chairman POF Board announced a financial aid for this foundation on this occasion.
Director of Foundation Brigadier (Retd) Muhammad Javed told that this foundation is the sole institution in private sector, which is providing medical treatment to Thalassaemia patients free of cost. He further remarked that these patients require continuous fresh blood so Foundation holds blood camps in various parts of the country for this purpose so that patients affected by this disease could be provided fresh blood.–Staff Reporter
He further remarked that it has been medically proved that continuous donation of blood lessens the fear of Heart attack and high blood pressure. He appealed to the Pakistani nation that you all help us in our this endeavour so that the complete eradication of Thalassaemia from Pakistan could be made possible.
