SWAT - After successful military operation in Swat and recovering from flash flood in 2010, the people of Swat valley are now facing another enemy in the shape of deadly disease 'dengue', which has claimed many lives so far in the area.
The disease has so far killed as many as 10 people in the area during the last one-week while thousands of people were affecting from the virus.
Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr khushid has confirmed that so far 10 patients were dead from the dengue. He said that two patients namely Muhammad Rasool Khan (55) hailing from Malook Abad Mingora and wife of one Zohaib  Mingora, have lost their lives due to dengue.
The number of registered dengue patients reached 2,800 while the accumulative number of the affected people has crossed 7,000 mark. Presently, 205 patients are receiving treatment at the Saidu Teaching Hospital whereas 26 patients are admitted to the private hospitals, Medical Ward Dispenser Ejaz. 
Meanwhile, the district administration has limited to meetings and no paper arrangements have been made to control the deadly disease.
 The dwellers of Swat said that there is heaps of garbage in different parts of the city. They demanded the local administration to immediately launch a massive anti-dengue campaign in rural and urban areas and also lunch awareness campaign. They also demanded that local administration should arrange dengue fever awareness walks in the district because majority of the people did not know about the disease.
In Karachi: Provincial Dengue Surveillance Cell of Sindh Health Department has reported that a total of 10 more new cases of Dengue Fever have been registered in the province during the last 24 hours.
As per the report, issued on Tuesday, 10 new cases of dengue fever have taken the total numbers to 1090 during the ongoing year in Sindh, while 1033 cases are reported only Karachi during the said time period. As many as 11 people have also died of dengue in the metropolis. 
In Lahore: Eight more were tested positive for dengue at different hospitals on Tuesday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the province to 97.
Out of the new cases, five were reported from Mayo Hospital and one each from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Shahdara Hospital and Fatima Memorial Hospital.
