ISLAMABAD - PML-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed Monday called for broad-based consensus between all the political parties for evolving a joint strategy on four major challenges including economy, energy, education and terrorism. Addressing a joint press conference here at the PML House along with MNA Marvi Memon, Deputy Secretary Information Ghulam Mustafa Malik, Vice President Ajmal Khan Wazir and others, Mushahid said that the government should take initiative and urge the political leadership to rise above the party lines to devise a joint strategy over the challenging situation. He urged the government to take all the decisions in the Parliament and the Majlis-e-Shura should not be meant for only sit, talk and disperse on the national expense. The governments incompetence, lack of commitment and disability has been clear to the masses during the past three years. You can only judge the lack of interest of the government in the nations affairs of the fact that though the Census 2011 has been launched with tall claims, the Census Commissioner for Sindh appointed just three days back, he said and added the government in 1998 had appointed 16000 enumerators to conduct census back while the incumbent government has appointed only 8,000 for the year 2011, he said. He said that that the government was long on rhetoric and short in action and the performance of the Sindh government was evident from the fact that 87 people had been reportedly kidnapped from the province. Meanwhile, he added, 100,000 out of total five lakh Watan Cards released for flood affectees turned out to be as fake. He said that the Sindh government was victimizing the opponents, which was a source of concern for his party. He said that his party leader Ch Shujaat Hussain and a high level delegation would launch a visit of Sindh from May 8 to reorganize his party across the province. He said that his party was not providing oxygen to the government and rather it was government itself, which was seeking its help to save the system.
