5 soldiers hurt in Hangu bomb blast

PESHAWAR  - At least five army personnel were injured when a remote control explosive device hit their vehicle in Hangu district on Monday.
Sources said that the incident occurred when army convoy was passing through the Sarozai area of Doaba. The remote control blast hit the vehicle of security forces, which caused injuries to five soldiers. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital Hangu where they were provided emergency medical treatment.
Those who were injured identified as soldier Sajjad, Lance Naik Asad, solider Ayaz and soldier Majid Ali.
Soon after the incident, heavy contingent of police rushed to the blast site and cordoned off the area. Police also started search operation in the area, however no arrest was made so far in this connection.
DPO Hangu Saeed Kundi told journalists that the blast was conducted through remote control device and its target was an army convoy.
He said that five persons were seriously injured as a result of the tragic incident.
