MULTAN-Former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has blamed the federal government for the political turmoil in Pakistan and said that he would have welcomed the long marches of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to Islamabad.

Gilani, while speaking at a ceremony, said that that the Pakistan People’s Party government showed patience during the long march of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

“I would have welcomed the Azadi March and Revolution March of PTI and PAT to Islamabad,” Gilani stated.

He feared that the rulers would lose the government due to their own mistakes. The former prime minister stated that protests and rallies could not put an end to a government. He advised Nawaz Sharif that he must keep his anger and emotions aside and then take decisions.

He suggested that the PM should strengthen the cabinet and keep away from the advisors who give him wrong advices.

Gilani said that it was him who restored judiciary, not General Kayani. He added that calling the military in Islamabad under Article 245 of the Constitution was unjustified. He added that he would have advised the government to impose Article 245 in the capital if the situation had gotten out of control.
