Israel’s hostilities new record of UN, US hypocrisy: Siraj

LAHORE- Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has denounced the escalation of Israel’s hostilities in Gaza and said the blood letting of Palestinians had set new record of the hypocrisy of the US, the UNO, and Europe.
Addressing the central executive of the JI at Mansoora on Saturday, he stressed upon the Muslim rulers to forge unity in their ranks and raise an effective voice for Palestine. He said that Israel was following in the footsteps of the US by  targeting helpless Palestinians mainly because of the Muslim Ummah’s weakness.
He wondered why the Zionist state was not declared a terrorist state because of its repeated attacks on the Palestinians.
The JI chief said that many people are now homeless due to the military operation in North Waziristan and had to face great hardships because the present relief arrangements were too inadequate.
He said it was the government’s responsibility to create an atmosphere wherein the brave and valiant tribal people could return to their homes with respect and dignity. He added that operation for indefinite time would create more problems.
Sirajul Haq said that the civil authorities should replace the British era rules for the tribal areas with new administrative and social structure besides reforming the police and judicial system.
The JI chief said that the country was confronted with numerous crises and if the present structure was demolished, it would be too difficult to evolve a new one.
He said the JI was in favour of comprehensive electoral reforms mainly because the elections a present had turned into a lucrative business and the common man could not even dream of returning to the assemblies. It was essential to revise the delimitation of constituencies and also impose a limit on the spending in the elections so that the common man could also contest elections.
