Public reps get kickbacks in uplift funds, claims PTI

MALAKAND - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Malakand district, President Junaid Akbar said Monday that the development works were the right of public, but the elected representatives were openly receiving commission and kickbacks in the funds.
He said the KPK Finance Minister Engr Mohammad Hamayun Khan was propagating that he had done too much development work in Malakand in his four years tenure, which was wrong, as there was nothing done by the elected members from Malakand during last 60 years.
He said the money spent on these development works was the national income and it was the prime responsibility of state to provide basic facilities to its citizens.
He said the development work in the area so far done by the provincial finance minister openly received kickbacks and commission in the funds.
He said that due to the apathy of provincial finance minister and elected MNA Rs 680 million project of Batkhela grid station was abolished because there was no chance of personal gains from this scheme, adding that that was why the dwellers of Malakand would once again face hardships of loadshedding and low voltage.
Junaid Akbar said the ‘misconception’ of the provincial finance minister would soon be finished that he would win the next election on the basis of his performance, as the people of Malakand Agency were disappointed with the federal and provincial governments.
