ISLAMABAD- Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif today met the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan at the latter's residence to discuss the consultations made with military leadership regarding direct talks with the Taliban.
The prime minister was accompanied by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Irfan Siddiqui and political secretary Asif Kirmani. Imran Khan was assisted by senior party leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Jehangir Tareen and Shireen Mazari. Both the leaders exchanged views over the formation of new negotiations committee for talks with the Taliban. According to sources, Nawaz Sharif took the PTI chief into confidence over the progress of dialogue process and the formation of new committee. Sources said that Imran Khan himself had made a request for the meeting. The prime minister, however, decided to visit the PTI chairman instead of
inviting him at his office.
