ISLAMABAD - National Highway Authority (NHA) has increased toll rates on national highways and motorways and in this regard NHA has established toll plazas at various locations to collect toll tax from the road users. NHA as a service provider is endeavouring hard to plan, build and maintain national highway & motorways with the view to facilitate the increasing domestic trade activity and transportation of the people in the country. On national highways the toll was collected at the average rate of Rs 1.43 per km which has been increased at the average rate of Rs 1.63 per km. Thus average increase comes to Rs 0.20 per km. Previously toll rate on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) was Rs 1.77 per Km, while the new rate is Rs 2.02 per km. Average increase is Rs 0.25 per km. Likewise, old toll rate on Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) was Rs 1.77 per km. New rate has been fixed at Rs 2.02 per km. Average increase is Rs 0.25 per km. On Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad Motorway (M-3), the toll was calculated at rate of Rs 2.22 per km, which is now increased to Rs 2.55 per km. Average increase made is Rs 0.33 per km At Kohat Tunnel Toll Plaza, previously toll was received at the rate of Rs 3.20 per km. This is increased to Rs 3.65 per km and thus average increase is Rs 0.45 per km. On Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) toll rate was collected at the rate of Rs 0.55 per km. New toll rate is Rs 0.62 per km. Here a minor average increase is Rs 0.07 per km.
