KHYBER AGENCY - The government decision to make dialogues with militants is a good omen and will be supportive to end militancy in the country.
Naib Amir Ansarul Islam Izatuallah Humakhyal stated this while talking to the media persons in Tirah Valley on Wednesday. He said that Ansarul Islam would extend every possible support to the government. He said that the pro-government organisation Ansar-ul-Islam welcomed the peace dialogues and offer support to government. He asked the government to take concrete steps for honourable repatriation of displaced tribesmen of Tirah to their hometowns. He urged the concerned authorities to take on board the Tirah elders while making any decision regarding their areas who are better aware of problems being faced by the tribal people.
Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: Taliban militants have released nine missing persons who were allegedly picked up after an attack on a passenger bus in Mattni area of Peshawar on Friday night.
Police said all missing persons were in Taliban captivity and were released on Tuesday night. They said the names and addresses of the released persons were not disclosed as all of them had reached their homes safely. They said the released persons did not report to police station and their names would be confirmed after registering the report.
It is pertinent to mention here that on Friday night miscreants equipped with arms had attacked a passenger bus coming from Kohat area, which resulted in killing of nine persons and several of them went missing. However, on Tuesday night Taliban released the nine passengers.
Meanwhile, on a tip off, Phando police recovered 23 pistols and thousands of cartridges from the possession of a smuggler.
Sources said police flagged down a suspected vehicle and after searching its cavities, they recovered 23 pistols and thousands of cartridges.
