SWABI – A hand grenade attack on ANP candidates contesting the polls here on Friday resulted in injuries to one of the workers while the target was former MNA Haji Rehmanullah and his son, former MPA Ameer Rehman who survived the attack here on Friday. Rehmanullah will be contesting election from NA-12, Swabi-1 and his son Ameer from PK-31, Swabi-1.
ANP’s district President said that they were on their way to party camp in Sheikh Jana for inaugurating an election campaign office there but when they reached the Shewa graveyard area suddenly some unidentified attackers hurled two grenades on them.
The incident resulted in injuries to one of the party workers identified as Shamal Khan.
He was immediately taken to the Kalu Khan Civil Hospital.
Superintendent of Police Dr Mian Muhammad Syed said that they were investigating the incident.
