Man searching safe place shot dead in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD - Dodging as many as 500 policemen deputed at 93 police pickets across the federal capital, unknown people armed with latest automatic weapons stormed their entry into a private guest house situated in one of the posh sectors of Islamabad, gunned down a trader and fled away from the scene on Wednesday.
Sadly, not even a single policeman (out of hundreds) deputed at as many as 90 police pickets installed across the federal capital could intercept the murderers who were armed with automatic weapons. The incident happened late in the evening within the jurisdiction of Aabpara police station.
According to police, Karachi-based trader Mohammad Abdur Razaq has been staying in a private guesthouse situated in G-6/4 for three weeks. Unidentified people forced their entry into his room, opened indiscriminate firing at him and fled away after leaving him into pool of blood.
“It is true that unidentified people killed him and fled away. He received three bullets in chest that resulted in his instant death,” spokesperson of Islamabad Capital Territory Police Mohammad Naeem told TheNation, adding that police were investigating the matter.
A wave of fear gripped the locality following the incident of firing. It is important to mention here that sector G-6/4 is located in the heart of Islamabad where police claim to have made foolproof security arrangements.
According to an official source, the trader had been residing in Islamabad since three weeks and was planning to shift his business here as he was under the impression that Islamabad was country’s safest city.
Sadly, his dreams ended in smoke, as the deceased was gunned down before he could shift his business and family here.
Utterly alarmed by the deteriorating condition of security, lawlessness and increasing rate of crime in the federal capital, many in Islamabad believe that gone are the days when country’s first ever-planned city federal capital Islamabad used to be the safest city.
Instead, Islamabad is now on fast track to get entry into lists of most dangerous cities of world with high rate of target killings, blind murders, kidnappings.
and car snatching — thanks to Islamabad Capital territory police.
Residents of Islamabad, many say, feel more insecure than ever before. They argue, if the police are only there to tease the common public rather than paying head to control target killings and blind murders.
“It is a question mark on the performance of Islamabad capital territory police that criminals can struck any where in the federal capital passing through a huge number of police pickets installed across the city and fled the scene without being intercepted by policemen,” Khurum Hussein, a permanent resident of Islamabad remarked.
