PTI to teach PML-N a lesson in LG polls: Hashmi

Multan
Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf President Makhdoom Javed Hashmi hinted on Wednesday at a likely electoral alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami for upcoming local government polls but rejected the possibility of any likewise accord with PPP or MQM.
Addressing a news conference at his residence, he strongly criticised the government for what he described as pre-poll rigging by introducing biased laws for local government system. “These attempts are meant to manipulate elections,” he maintained. He warned that the PTI would teach a lesson to the ruling junta across the country.
Answering a question on PTI’s sit in against drone attacks, he said that the sit-in had entered 18th consecutive day and it would not be called off until the attacks were completely stopped. He said that the PTI did not bother about the aid as the attacks delivered much heavier losses to Pakistan than the benefits earned through US aid.
Referring to retirement of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, he paid glowing tribute to him and said that he strengthened the judiciary and ensured dispensation of justice to the masses. He condemned secret agencies’ attitude and said that their reluctance to produce missing persons before the court was, in fact, failure of the government.
He said that the current government had completely failed to deliver as sky-rocketing prices crushed the poor masses. He maintained that the rulers made tall claims during election campaign regarding giving relief to the people but they acted inversely and price hike made the lives of people highly miserable.
