Court to indict ephedrine smuggling accused on 17th

RAWALPINDI - An anti-narcotics court on Wednesday could not indict the 10 accused including Syed Ali Musa Gilani in ephedrine case owing to absence of an accused. The court adjourned the hearing without any proceeding fixing February 17, 2014 as the date for indictment.
ANC Special Judge Akhtar Bahadur took up the case to frame the charges against the accused.
However, an accused Iftikhar Babar was not present in the court because of which the court could not indict the other accused Syed Ali Musa Gilani, the son of former PM Syed Yusaf Raza Gilani, Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Ansar Farooq, Abdul Sattar Surani, Sheikh Ansar Ahmed, Zunair Javed, Abdul Khaliq, Asad Hafiz and Tahir Wadood Lahoti.
Meanwhile, the judge dismissed the plea of former Federal Health Minister Makhdoom Shihabuddin,
Ansar Farooq and Abdul Sattar Surani of hearing their cases in Islamabad anti-narcotics court instead of Rawalpindi.
