MIRPUR (AJK) - Local authorities on Saturday sent two Kashmir-origin Indian nationals, belonging to Jammu city of Indian-held Kashmir and their local host to Mirpur District Jail under Foreign Act - 14 on charges of moving in valid travel documents/visa, official sources said.
They were identified as Sardar Suvender Singh Bhal, Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Social Peace Forum of occupied Kashmir, his associate Vijay Abrol and their local host Sardar Arif Shahid, President Jammu Kashmir National Liberation Conference.
They were detained by AJK Police Post at Mangla, Mirpur (AJK) Friday night while they were getting back to Rawalpindi, after visiting Mirpur without valid travel document, a senior Mirpur police official told this scribe here on Saturday.
Both the Indian nationals were Saturday produced in a local court who sent them and their local host to jail under the Foreign Act - 14 for illegally moving in to the jurisdiction of Mirpur without valid travel documents.
“Yes we have received two Indian nationals and their local host in Mirpur district jail, sent by local duty magistrate under Foreign Act, for imprisonment under the law”, said Jail Superintendent Syed Yasir Sarfraz Kazmi, when contacted by this Correspondent Saturday afternoon. It may be added that the aforesaid two Indian nationals, hailing from occupied Jammu & Kashmir, had come on visa which was reportedly valid only for Kotli and Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir as well as other stipulated destinations of Pakistan including Lahore and Rawalpindi.
The alleged unlawful Indian nationals had attended a meeting hosted here on Friday by the local leaders of various local nationalist parties including Jammu & Kashmir National Liberation Conference, Jammu & Kashmir Plebiscite Front and other like-minded groups.
