Peshawar- A local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former member of union council was shot dead in Peshawar today, said the police.
According to local police, unknown gunmen opened fire on ANP local leader in Kohati area of the city. Police officials said Anwar ul Haq was a member of ANP and former member of union council. The ANP is often targeted by militants who see the ANP as supporting the US-led war against al Qaeda and The Taliban. No group has yet claimed responsibility.
