QUETTA - The team of crimes branch police which is conducting investigation into the murder case of Nawab Muhammad Akbar Khan Bugti has assured Balochistan High Court that arrest warrants of principal accused Pervez Musharraf and others will be obtained within this month. This assurance was given to a Division Bench of Balochistan High Court comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Essa and Justice Abdul Qadir Mengal on Wednesday during hearing of a petition filed by Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti against non-implementation of court orders regarding the case. The crimes branch team submitted a report regarding progress in investigations into the case. The Investigation Officer informed the court that the statements of former Governor of Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani and former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao have been obtained besides getting the arrest warrants of former Home Minister of Balochistan Shoaib Nosherwani from the court of Judicial Magistrate Sui. In their statements Owais Ahmed Ghani and Aftab Ahmed Sherpao had stated that Nawab Bugti was killed in a military action. 'They said that Army was not under their control ,therefore, they had no role in actions that led to murder of Nawab Bugti. The Chief Justice questioned the investigation team that why they did not obtain the arrest warrants of former President Pervez Musharraf when Director Crimes Branch Police who was present in the court said according to his opinion Pervez Musharraf was the principal accused. The Director Crimes Branch police said they could not obtain his arrest warrants because of legal problems as he was out of country and ,added, that they had written a letter to Home Department to get arrest warrants of Pervez Musharraf. However, the crimes branch police assured the court that arrest warrants of other accused including principal accused will also be obtained before next date of hearing. The court adjourned the hearing of case till November 1st.
