PPP committed to public service

Our Staff reporter LAYYAH - The present PPP government, despite lack of resources and multiple challenges at all front, has been striving to eliminate poverty and ensure social and economical prosperity of the masses. PPP MPA Iftikhar Babar Khettran expressed the views while distributing cell phone sets among women under the Benazir Income Support Programme here the other day. He pointed out that it was the dream of PPP slain chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to empower women folk and ensure their rights. The inception of BISP is a step towards materialisation of the dream of daughter of the east which she dreamt for the empowerment and prosperity of the women," he claimed, adding that the government was committed to the welfare and development of the women. The MPA said that under the BISP Programme 7,000 families were getting benefits in Layyah so far. Khettran also said that his party intending to carry out a thorough survey of the flood effected people again. "The govt has utilising all-out resources to solve problems being faced by the masses and remove hurdles in uplift.
