PESHAWAR – In order to pay homage and offer prayer for the early recovery of Malala Yusufzai, a one-minute silence and Yaum-e-Dua were observed in each and every corner of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
Special prayers were offered in all the Auqaf mosques as well as in government schools for the early recovery of peace campaigner Malala Yousufzai. Besides special prayers, a one-minute silence was observed in all government departments and government schools.
Students across not only from Khyber Paklhtunkhwa but also across the country prayed for the early recovery of Malala Yousufzai on Friday. A one-minute silence was also observed at 12:00 noon. Special prayers for Malala’s early recovery were also offered in PML (N) offices and worships places of minorities throughout the province.
Malala Yousufzai who was shot on her head now has been shifted to intensive care unit of Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology where she has been put on ventilator while her medical boards saying that next 48 hours are crucial for her life.
On the other hand, Swat police claimed to have arrested three alleged militants involved in the murder attempt of Malala Yousufzai. Police said that the mastermind of the attack was Attaullah who was the resident of Sangota village in district Swat.
District police officer Swat said that the arrested persons have been shifted to an unknown location for further investigation. He said that soon the mastermind of the attack would be apprehended.
Meanwhile, KPK Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that soon the elements, who attempted to kill Malala Yousufzai, would be arrested. He said that religious scholars, media persons and representative of civil societies should raise their voices against militants.
Haroon Siraj from Swat adds: The people of Swat observed the day of prayer for the 14-year-old child rights activist and National Peace Award winner Malala Yousufzai and her other two fellows Kainat and Shazia, who were injured in brutal attack on school van here on Tuesday at Sharifabad, Swat. The teachers and students of University of Swat, government and private schools offered a special prayers for the icon and her other fellows. Special prayers were also offered in mosques, educational institutions, DCO office and DOR office here on Friday at Swat for Malala and her two friends. A one-minute silence was also observed in DCO office for show of solidarity with Malala and her two other mates.
Activists of Aman Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf set up a camp where they lit candles and signed banners to denounce the murder attempt of Malala Yousafzai.
The protest camp was set up by the PTI Youth Wing, which was attended by Syed Furqan Kaka Khail, Kamran Bangash and Irfan Saleem. They portrayed the pictures of Malala Yousufzai, Shazia and Kainat and offered special prayers for their early recovery. The camp was also attended by former world champion Qamar Zaman Khan, Ayesha Gulalai and others.
Meanwhile, activists of Aman Tehreek also set up protest camp outside Peshawar press club and paid rich tributes to Malala Yousafzai and her female classmates. The camp was also visited by provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain and Minister for science and Technology Ayub Ashari, ANP MPA Shagufta Malik.
